Table Object

Before a MinedTree object can be defined you will need to create a Table object. For detailed information on Table objects see the main Table object section. Here we will concentrate on the areas specific to data mining. A Table object is shown below:

To enable a Table for Data Mining the DSN and Tablename entries should be selected as normal:

The table then needs to be set up for Data Mining. To do this click on the Prepare for Data Mining button.

The Table object is now available for use in Mined Tree objects.

If this Table is to be defined as the Training Table in the Mined Tree object Properties tab and the object is to be run (e.g. @Do <Mined Tree>) then the DB Fields need to be mapped to attributes. The easiest way to do this is to click the Auto Map Fields button:

This option automatically creates the attributes as defined in Text Field Mapping and Numeric Field Mapping, and maps the fields to them. By default all the fields are mapped but if you know that some fields will not be part of the knowledge in the Mined Tree Object tree then they can be de-selected. You may prefer to select Auto Map Fields after the tree has been built when you will know exactly which fields form part of the knowledge.

The Table object now displays the mapping information:
